For more than 65 years, Venus Wafers has been creating "the best crackers on earth" - including a variety of delicious thin breads, cracker breads and assorted baked goods that satisfy the tastes of loyal consumers far and wide. Throughout our history, we have been dedicated to producing products of the highest quality. So you know if it's from Venus, it's out of this world! Venus Wafers began in 1930 when Napolean Barmakian left his family's jewelry business and began baking authentic flatbreads based on an original old-world Armenian recipe. A first generation immigrant, he worked hard to peddle his flat bread from a small storefront in Boston. As business grew, so did his baking operation - and in the 1940's Barmakian moved to a state-of-the-art plant in Boston. The new plant featured an automated baking line and packaging machinery. Venus remained at the Boston plant until 1968, when the company relocated to Quincy. Today, Venus Wafers, Inc. is located in Hingham, Massachussetts, just 40 miles from Napolean Barmakian's original storefront location. |
